Wedding Memorial Vase

You may be wondering why the very fist post to this blog is about something so sad. Well, there IS a method to my madness. :)

My dad was (and still is) a very loved and cherished member of our family. My girls loved him dearly...and he felt the same way about them. He absolutely adored his grandchildren.

When he was diagnosed with cancer at a very late stage, we were devastated. My girls were very young then and weren't sure what was going on. But they could see him losing massive amounts of weight (he wasn't overweight to start, so it looked horrible). One day, when driving in the car, one of my daughters asked him "grandpa, are you going to die?". It was an honest and real question for a little girl who dearly loved this man. His answer was, "I plan to live until I see both of my grandbabies marry a great man. I am planning on being at your wedding. I have to make sure he is good enough for you!". My father passed away shortly after that.

We plan to have him at their wedding. We want him to know we did not forget. We will never forget. Because of this, we are always on the lookout for cool memorial wedding ideas. This is how we came across the engraved wedding memorial vase.

If you have ideas for remembering a loved one on your special day, please share.

Here are some of the pretty vases that I have found. I love Amazon. They usually have discounts, easy limits for free shipping and they stand behind their products. So, you will find I gravitate toward them... I also included one vase cling for those of you who have to have all of the vases matching. Just add this to your own vase.

The memory vases can be placed at a table for everyone to see. Place some flowers inside (my dad will have orchids, his favorite) that match the theme of the wedding. There are also memory picture frames (I'll post those later....after some happy things.). A cool idea would be to have the vase and the picture at the table with the guest book. Your loved one can be your honorary "keeper of the guest book".

Welcome to a Fun Wedding Blog!

The idea for this blog is to have some fun, share some ideas and seek out the most creative, fun and unique wedding ideas and products available. Whew! That was a mouthful.

The inspiration for this blog is my two daughters. They may not be ready to marry yet. But, they love imagining their wedding day. They love looking at beautiful wedding dresses. And they love to find things that they would want. And, yes, so do I!

Weddings are happy, beautiful, quirky, original, unique, tradtional....whatever you make them! It is your wedding, make it what you have always dreamed of!
